I leave for selection soon and have been working out HARD and consistent for over a year. I saw a couple SERE guys post about cross fit and thought I'd try it out. I thought I was in great shape until I started this program. If you want your best chance of passing Selection and want to be truly prepared for the Tech School, start cross fit now. It's not for the faint of heart though. I haven't been this sore in years. Punish yourself and get fit now. This is just my opinion though. Just try it out.

I personally like sealfit.com if you perfer workouts longer than 20-30 minutes. It's basically the same thing as crossfit but with a bigger work load.

I agree the workouts are short, I like to rest about 10-15 min and add a run or something like that afterwards. I'll have to check it out.

It's tuff isn't it. I thought I was in pretty good shape too until I tried it. If you can afford it I would recommend going to a crossfit affiliate in your city. I went for a couple months and we did a lot of team-based exercises. A few of us were pretty competitive so we're always pushing each other. I'll have to check out that sealfit.

I tried doing Crossfit on my own, and the problem I had was that a lot of the exercises required equipment that I didn't have access to, so I wound up going to an affiliate gym. It's crazy fun, tough, and worth it. I got my brother involved too (an ex-marine) and am having fun kicking his ass up and down that gym! The competitive aspect definitely makes it more fun!

We were trying to get Crossfit Level I certified here in Altus but my commander shut it down fast.

Crossfit is good to do for S3 and while you are on preteam at Fairchild, because that is what they do. Team is a different story. You don't actually get to PT very much on team, but when you do the focus is running and rucking.

I did a week of the Sealfit and jesus h... it's brutal! Never have I ever been so completely drenched in sweat and worn out in my life, even doing sports in high school.
