I have looked through the post and can not find anything on this.
I am prior service Marines and just finished my degree at Northern Arizona University studding Outdoor Leadership. I was planing on joining as an officer until I learned about the SERE Specialist. My problem is that the ASVAB scores from when I joined the Marines does not match the requirements for the SERE program.
Is there any way around this or has any one heard of retaking the ASVAB as a prior service. (the recruiter that I am working with seems to think you cant)
Any help would be great. Thanks, Trey

Ive been in the DEP program for about 6 months waiting for a SERE contract. My recruiter jokingly said I might have to retake the ASVAB if I dont get my contract soon. Then she explained she was just kidding and the asvab scores are good for two years.
So apparently your asvab scores are invalid after 2 years. I dont see why you wouldn't be able to take another asvab. Try talking to a different recruiter.

You can take the asvab 3 times. A month wait for each one and then you have to wait 6 months to redo. When you get the score you need then that last 2 years. hope that answers your question.
