im not in sere but i hope to be one day so i have done a lot of research and every thing ive seen has said the same thing. the resistance and escape part of the course is secret so no one can give you a straight answer. anyone who gives you details (especially online) is probably lieing. but if you give it some thought it goes against commen sense to break your students bones. the course is meant to make you a better airmen not cripple you. its about preparing you menatlly then harming you physically

Alright, here's the deal - we are allowed to break 4 fingers or 1 femur or both arms...you have to choose which to break and no more. Oh yeah - chalk that previous sentence up to another lie you've been told. I have heard that question so many times it makes me want to puke. Really? For someone to tell you that, you are being fed a huge load of BS. If you want to know - go through SERE School and stop listening to the inflated stories that are stretched only to boost someone's ego.

actually, my recruiters the one who told me that heres a list of crap ive been told happens in the resistance part, most of which im fairly sure is true.. - Extreme temperatures - Waterboarding – being tied to a board with the feet higher than the head and having water poured into the nose. - Noise stress – playing very loud and dissonant music and sound effects. Recordings have been reported to include babies wailing inconsolably, cats meowing, female orgasms, and irritating music. - Sexual embarrassment - Religious dilemma – given the choice of seeing a religious book desecrated or revealing secrets to interrogators - Flag desecration - Prolonged cramped or restrictive confinement - Sleep deprivation/starvation - Excrement familiarization/humiliation - Mock execution - Overcoming food aversions (eating bugs, roadkill, dumpster diving, urine drinking) - Height/water/enclosed spaces - Physical beating - “stress inoculation” i was mostly just worried about the breaking fingers part because im a musician and plan to go into a career with that after SERE. and something like that could mess that up for the rest of my life :/

Does your recruiter moonlight as a stand up comedian? The excrement part is the best - something to be said about contracting Hepatitis. Some of what he told you is correct and most is wrong. The only one I will specifically address is water boarding, since it seems to be a hot topic in the news. Air Force SERE School DOES NOT water board. Period. My advice to you, some recruiters are good some are like lawyers:) Don't believe the stories (As an example, before I went through SERE School in 1995, I was told that the RT Instructors are authorized to take steroids to make them bigger...it's amazing some of the BS that gets told) and the best way to verify their story is to experience it yourself.

lol, not all that was my recruitar, he just told me about breaking bones, and then said id be shoved in a box or something, occassionally beaten. etc. Im due to leave for a position as a SERE instructor jan 18th, i kinda started to have doubts after i was told that though because i dont want my career being messed up by some crazy SERE dude breaking my finger, then i researched it and read about all that crap. some of it i know is true, like im pretty sure the noise stress is, etc. you are a SERE instructor though, correct? as long as they dont break my fingers im good lol

Correct. The best I can tell is the only way you will get a bone broken is if you trip and fall:)
