I had a quick question as wether there is any way to avoid waiting the entire time required for your cross-training slot to pop up? For instance I have a six year contract, do I have to wait 57 months or whatever before I'm eligible to try again for SERE?

Should be eligible at your 3 year mark or when you sew on SrA.. Check your MPF to be sure. Ask some other retrainees on here because I am sure there are similar situations.
