ok, so i just recently signed up for SERE, passed all the tests and such easily enough and am now just waiting for an opening to come up. Anything i should know about it before i go in? any info, advice, etc would be appreciated, thanks

from experience... prepare yourself mentally first that is the hardest...focus on pushing thru one minute one hour one session at a time... trust me there will be time when you will falter but you gotta push thru, when your exhausted, hungry, and overworked/stressed. thats the hardest part. physically: get rucking start with 40 lbs and work up to 75lbs with up to 4-6 miles at a 4 min mile pace. Also become proficent at pushups and all other basic callistenics. Cross fit is and fatal fitness.com are great avenues of achieving such. Like i said 90% of the course is mental toughness....the rest is physical

I think the previous poster meant to start off at 40lbs and work up to 75lbs with around a 15 min mile. You have to be able to do 4 miles in an hour with a 65 lbs ruck to get through selection. Push ups and pull ups and sit ups are also part of the past test. The job is pretty physical but like the previous poster said prepare yourself for the mental aspect. The road to being a SERE Specialist is long and hard but I promise you it is worth the challenge
